Scouts
Starts at 8pm to 9.45 on a Friday and 7.45pm to 9.30pm on Thursdays at St Andrew’s Church Hall.
The Scout programme provides a balanced and exciting range of activities based on seven zones. These comprise of Outdoor Scouting, Fitness, Discovering the World Around You, Creativity, Beliefs and Attitudes, Caring and community and also the Global Zone.
There are many badges Scouts can earn through participation in these zones and through work at home.
The Ten Challenges
There are ten Challenge awards for Scouts as follows:-

- The Outdoor Plus Challenge
- The Creative Challenge*
- The Fitness Challenge*
- The Global Challenge*
- The Community Challenge*
- The Adventure Challenge
- The Expedition Challenge
- The Promise Challenge*
Activity Badges
There are lots of Activity Badges a Scout can earn within a wide range of subjects, each having their own laid down requirements. Some can be done within the Troop and some individually.
The Chief Scout’s Gold Award
The highest award within the Troop section is the Chief Scout Gold Award, and in order to achieve this, a Scout needs to have attained all of the challenges marked with an asterisk above plus two of the others.
